Vee Vee Roark, guitar god extraordinaire!
Oh my goodness, just how many times have I seen these guys in the last few days?  It was Michelle's (the other girl on the go-go!) birthday on June 19th, and what better way to celebrate than to trek on down to Renton and see Combover at Sliders!  Wooo-hooo!  We dragged a few of our friends down to the show who hadn't yet experienced the musical deus ex machina that is Combover.
Combover left to right: Vee Vee, Liam, Dick, Plonk
Sliders is a pretty cheesy club (not to mention hard to find), but I think Combover played one of their best shows ever that night.  They sounded great, the crowd dug it, and new bass player "Plonk" Dawson kicks some major bottom end!  Our friends were won over!
No one rocks as hard as these guys!
Combover opened the show (along with Crime Family) for Green Apple Quickstep.  I had no idea that the guitarist for the Ya Yas is also in Green Apple Quickstep, silly me!  We watched about half of the headliner before deciding to take the birthday girl out for more drinks.  The Green Apple kids were okay (we all especially liked the songs the female bass player sang), but hey, they're no Combover!
Dick Rossette, rock star & part-time Radio City Rockette!

Ah yea!
Okay, so maybe Michelle and I are insane, but the next day we went to see Combover AGAIN!  This time they were playing in the great outdoors at the beautiful Fremont Fair.  Combover got to play at the PCC (Puget Consumers Co-op) stage.  Oh yea, they were sure to be a hit with the vegan politically correct hippie crowd!
We love hippies, yes we do!  We love hippies, how 'bout you?
This show was great, although it was marred by an ugly incident perpetrated by an acid casualty.  This guy came up to the front of the stage & started flipping the band off and telling them to fuck off.  Well, of course, Dick flipped him massive amounts of shit, but the guy didn't get it.  Then he kept on doing some sort of scary air dance in front of the stage.  He was eventually thrown out by security!  Wow!  Photo documentation of this beautiful human drama is below:
Listen to what the flower people say...
Okay, so the Fremont Fair was pretty much a blast.  We even went back the next day to watch some rock-a-billy and country-ish acts.  Look what we found still taped up to the p.a. speaker at the end of the day:
Real, actual Combover set list!  Guarenteed to be authentic!
Egads, the following week I went to see Combover, yet again!  This time they played the Crocodile Cafe.  Below are some snaps from this fabu show:

This Crocodile Cafe show rocked, as usual.  Okay, so by now you can probably tell that I absolutely LOVE this band.  And hey, if you saw 'em, you would too!  So get off your ass & go out & see some live rock & roll!  Yea!
