Heard that Neko Case was recording 3 nights in a row at the Ballard, WA landmark/eatery Hattie's Hat, and knew I hat to go!  Saw her open for the Derailers with The Sadies and was inspired to write a musical play entitled Go Go West.  She had the right mix of 60ish beat music and country, and a voice that would make Tammy proud.  (I just kneeled and lit a candle for Miss Wynette - poor thang.)

As she was about to go on I learned that she was actually doing a duet with Victoria B.C.'s hottest babe - Carolyn Mark.  It was the Corn Sisters!

Neko & Carolyn, "The Corn Sisters!"

Neko plays a hi-hat and snare with a brush and Carolyn plays acoustic guitar (mighty well.)  They both wear taps on their right feet and Carolyn has a tambourine snuggling on her ankle.

Neko sings & hits that drum!
I swear if I didn't like dick so much I would gobble these gals up!  Their voices meld so well and they sing the best songs - a Nick Lowe cover, a Jesus loving tune by the most wunnerful harmonizers on the planet - the Louvin Bros., Long Black Veil, Fist City, not to mention their own gut busting tunes like Corn on the Cob.  I almost lost it! Yep they are funny too!
Carolyn - funny as hell with a voice like an angel!

I can't believe all the men in the place weren't tearing their hairs out... I heard that is why Dick Rossette is bald (shhh.)  Hopes are that Carolyn will play the lead in GO GO WEST.  She is an actress too!  Wouldn't dat be somefin!
